Budgetly App Tester Instructions
Welcome to Budgetly testing! This guide will help you set up everything you need to test the app using Binance Smart Chain (BSC) testnet and the supported LINK token. Please follow the steps below to ensure a smooth testing experience.
1. Prerequisites
- Binance Smart Chain Testnet Account:
- You need a wallet (e.g., MetaMask) configured for BSC testnet.
- If you don’t have one, create a MetaMask wallet and add the BSC testnet network.
- Testnet BNB for Gas Fees:
- You need BNB on BSC testnet to pay for transaction gas fees.
- Get free BNB from the official BNB Chain testnet faucet:
- Connect your wallet and request BNB. Wait for the transaction to complete and confirm the BNB is in your wallet.
- Testnet LINK Token:
- Only LINK token on BSC testnet is supported for testing.
- You will need some testnet LINK tokens in your wallet.
2. Getting Testnet LINK Tokens
- Visit the official Chainlink faucet for BSC testnet:
- Connect your wallet and request testnet LINK tokens.
- Wait for the transaction to complete and confirm the tokens are in your wallet.
3. Connecting Your Wallet in Budgetly
- Open the Budgetly app on your device.
- On the welcome screen, tap Connect Wallet.
- Select your wallet provider (e.g., MetaMask, WalletConnect).
- Approve the connection and ensure you are on the BSC testnet network.
- Your wallet address and LINK balance should appear in the app.
4. Creating and Managing Budgets
- Tap Create Budget on the dashboard a red floating action button (FAB).
- Enter a budget name and select LINK as your token.
- Specify the amount, release cycle, and start time.
- Confirm and approve the transaction in your wallet.
- Your budget will appear on the dashboard after confirmation.
5. Topping Up and Withdrawing
- To add more LINK to a budget, use the Deposit button and follow the prompts.
- To withdraw available funds, tap Withdraw and confirm the transaction.
- Only available (released) funds can be withdrawn according to your budget’s release cycle.
6. Budget Status and Settings
- You can enable or disable budgets from the budget details screen(WIP).
- Settings like release amount and cycle can be updated when the budget balance is zero.
7. Mainnet Support
- On mainnet, only USDT is supported for budgets.
- For testing, always use BSC testnet and LINK token as described above.
8. Troubleshooting
- Ensure you are on the correct network (BSC testnet) and have sufficient LINK tokens.
- If you run out of testnet LINK, revisit the faucet link above.
- For wallet connection issues, try disconnecting and reconnecting your wallet.
Happy testing! If you encounter any issues, please report them to the development team with details about your wallet, network, and steps to reproduce the problem.
